PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS

Kokodama Workshop

23rd March ‘25 2-4.30 pm

Kokodama simply translates into moss ball. It is an ancient gardening practice carried out in the 17th century Japan. Bonsai was very popular, but slow to mature and so this method of creating a quick similar feature was born. It is believed to capture the ancient art and philosophy of Wabi Sabi, which centres around finding beauty and acceptance in the imperfections in nature. Traditionally these moss balls would be displayed in groups in hanging gardens to create a sense of calm and tranquility .

During this workshop we will be exploring the art of Wabi Sabi. Creating your very own piece of Kokadama.

This workshop is being held by @fields-flowers. Lola is an experienced florist, with with huge love for creating art and design pieces from plants and flowers. Assisted by Lucy Beacham, Studio Unfold.

All plants and materials will be provided along with some light refreshments.

Wild Wonky Weaving with Holly Austin

‘When we walk into nature we are in context. It is all around us and within us’

- Ian Siddons Hedginworth

8th December ‘24 1-3.30 pm

In this workshop, we will journey with nature to come back into context with the season of Winter through making, creating, ritual and folklore; in community with each other and the more than human web of life. Reclaiming space to connect at a pace that feels good for you; to ground into our roots, to gather, to wonder, to pause, to bumble, to be messy and to be curious; as the imperfectly perfect human beings we are. Using creative exploration as a source of REAL self - care.

We will experiment with what it means to create wild and wonky perfectly imperfect wreaths using foraged materials, with plenty of support and guidance along the way from Holly and Lucy.

All materials are provided, plus a seasonal foraging guide booklet (upon purchase of ticket) to begin your winter and wreath making connections with nature.
