Hello

I am Lucy and I am an artist facilitator specialising in therapeutic visual arts workshops for mental health support. I have been drawing, illustrating and mixed media making since I was a kid. I have been a Kemptown resident for 19 years.

Studio Unfold has been years in development since 2020. With the aim to provide affordable, inclusive studio space nurturing connection and resilience. To offer effective, creative enrichment of individuals and the wider community. It is an exceptional opportunity to have finally found a physical space in this beautiful heritage property.  The intrinsic character of the building has a rare authenticity and it is a privilege to share another chapter in its usage. The essential premise is that the space will be developed from grass roots to potential, co-created, over time.

My background is in production design and art direction for film & television. Later I worked as project/workshop manager and later still, as senior creative in spacial design, display & prop making. Freelance from 2015, my commercial work varies from concept illustration, interior, retail, event and mural design, production and installation. I work with a handful of clients to brief, independently and in collaboration with other designers, makers and suppliers.

Alongside this, I have contributed to public and community arts projects, as it became increasingly important to me to develop a more socially engaged practice. Building on voluntary roles and with additional training, over the last few years, my focus has been in the arts and health sector, specifically, youth support.
